Amjid Ali is the AI & Automation Lead at Dexterous Group Australia, based in Melbourne. He has 25+ years of international experience across technology leadership, business process management, and data science, spanning construction, retail, professional services, and trading.

His working focus is agentic workflows: systems where an AI agent plans, calls tools, and completes a piece of real work rather than answering a question. That means process mapping first, then orchestration, retrieval, tool design, evaluation, and the governance that lets the result run unattended. He writes and speaks about the parts that decide whether these systems survive contact with production, including agent security, unit cost, and the MCP integration layer.

Amjid is an n8n Ambassador and verified Creator, with agentic workflow templates published to the n8n community and used thousands of times by builders worldwide. He works primarily in open source and self-hosted stacks, which keeps client data on infrastructure the client controls, a position that matters more each year as Australian AI regulation tightens.

Earlier, as Group CIO at a diversified Oman conglomerate (2021 to 2025), he founded the AI Factory, a centre of excellence that deployed 55+ autonomous AI agents across 10 business functions, delivered 300% ROI, and cut operational costs by 35%. He mapped 250+ business processes, documented 165 SOPs, and built production RAG pipelines, LLM orchestration, and agentic workflows at enterprise scale. He was a CIO 200 Global Champion and a Global CIO Finalist for that work.

Alongside the day job he teaches. More than 200,000 students globally across IT, AI, ERP, and BI, through five published books, twelve online courses, and corporate training and executive coaching for CTOs, CIOs, and senior teams adopting AI. He is currently pursuing a doctorate in AI, automation, and agentic workflows. As a speaker he sticks to practical use cases: what was built, what it cost, what broke.
